Pursuing a Dream...

OK, some background. I've always desired to make a film. Years ago I had taken steps towards this goal, but my path -- for better or worse -- meandered into a different region. Over this past year this desire has been re-energized. I realized that it needs to be done NOW. If I wait another week, another month then it will never happen.. ..

This film is many things: a monument to my stupendous ego; a story of hope and loss; art; an experiment; a learning experience; a fulfillment of a childhood desire.

Why should you be a part of it, this vain and pretentious thing of mine?

Well, for one, it'll be fun (at times). We will learn things about the process. We will get to visit weird places around the city and look official doing so. We will be fed.

Then there's the art. Ever have a desire to create something? Ever feel the urge to rip something of beauty from the chaos? Ever want to take a slab of rock and chisel it with bleeding hands into an Aphrodite? Ever pick up charcoal and attack an empty canvas?

Or perhaps you, like I, enjoy the gadgetry and the technology. Non-linear editing software, light meters, the hum of electric motors...

Or maybe you once, alone in your car, pretended to be Bono or Bruce yelling out to screaming crowds, "Thank you, L.A.!" The glare of the spotlight, the roar, the congratulations from the President... "I'd like to thank the Academy."

Or maybe you just like being fed.

Whatever your motivation, the time is now. Think Brad Pitt telling Bruce Willis in 12 Monkeys that, um, you'd better do it NOW. There will be hard work, lots of it, and from experience working with groups, we know that tempers and egos will sometimes flare. But the end result will, we hope, be a thing of beauty. Be a part of it.

Still here? Wonderful. Whatever you think about me so far, know that once I set my mind to something it remains set. I wake every day at 5:30AM and usually work on both professional and personal interests until about Midnight or 1:00AM. I'm writing this at 4:30AM on Sunday morning...

If you have similar enthusiasm then you can help. If you can work a 9-5 shift and then head to work on this project, wander in on Friday night, forego a weekend or so, then you can help. We need actors (4) and actresses (2). If you can remember a few lines and say them out loud then you can help.

The script, as of right now, is a single page from completion.

The pizza is being ordered.

Shooting starts in June.
