Introduction

This is a short guide to some of the various mathematics applications available for Linux. We approach these applications as a student would, using the various tools to solve many standard problems in algebra, physics and calculus. Though it may seem self-defeating at the onset, we will attempt to solve the same problems using each of the tools. By doing this we not only reinforce the problem solving methods, but provide a baseline for comparison.
